Happy Monday, guys! I’m back with a #5OnMyTBR post after so long! This week it is a trope that I am really fond of: chosen family or found family!
#5OnMyTBR is a weekly meme hosted by E. @Local Bee Hunter’s Nook and you can learn more about it in her announcement post. #5OnMyTBR takes place every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR. You can find each week’s prompts on here or come up with your own.
Here are my picks for this week:
- Trans witch main character
- The “friends to enemies to lovers” trope
- M/M romance
- Cinderella retelling with a cyborg mechanic
- Asian representation
- Set during a deadly plague in New Beijing
- Grown-up version of Six Of Crows
- A band of oddly pleasant crazy thieves!
- Violent action and political machinations!
- Magical children in an orphanage on an island
- Queer romance
- Described as wholesome X-Men!
- Ocean’s Eleven – but gay!
- First book in a heist series
- Slow burn M/M romance
And those are my picks for this week! Have you read any of these? Let me know what you thought of them if you did and let me know you picks for this week too!
Feel free to leave some of your favourite chosen family trope books below!

Cinder is one of my favorites 😁 I love this trope, I should do a post like this!
I love these trope-themed lists! So fun!
One of my favourite tropes! I haven’t read cinder yet, and the lies of Locke lamora looks super interesting!
Mine too! Such a great trope tbh!
I LOVE the Found Family trope! Read and love Cinder and The House in the Cerulean Sea, and The Witch King and The Lies of Locke Lamora are on my TBR. I didn’t know about Pros and Cons of Vengeance but it sounds amazing 🙂
I love it so much too! It’s such a wholesome and entertaining trope!
I absolutely love this list! I really enjoyed Cinder as well and I have The House in the Cerulean Sea on my TBR. Great post! <3
Thank you!!! 😁❤
I’m such a huge fan of books that feature found families. Cinder and The House in the Cerulean Sea are two of my favorites and I also love the found family in Six of Crows.
Oh yes! I’ve heard that series has some really good found family elements too! I can’t wait to read all of these! 😍
