Happy Sunday and welcome to another Sunday Sum-Up!
Can you believe that September just flew into our lives with no warning? I keep thinking it’s the first day of the month only to be reminded that it’s five days into the month already! Such a whirlwind! I am glad to report that I am now fully vaccinated! Yay! It’s such a relief and worth the day-long sore arm I had after getting my jab.
I couldn’t get much done this week since I felt slightly under the weather after the jab, but I put in some good hours into my reading, blogging and trying new things on my Bookstagram that it was a genuinely fun week! First, I decided I am going to experiment with my IG posts and include more edits, starting with my August wrap-up! I feel like I’m really like this sort of posts, so I’m planning on doing little recommendation lists on my Bookstagram from time to time, so stay tuned for that!
Then I finally managed to finish reading Incursion, so expect a review coming up this week. I also managed to finish reading Pahua and the Soul Stealer on time for my blog stop and I cannot believe how fast I made it through those 400-something pages! You know it’s a 5-star read when you can’t put away the book!
And that’s my update for this week! Hope you enjoy this week’s Sunday Sum-Up! Let me know how your week went below!
- Shannon @ It Starts At Midnight reviews a bunch of great August releases, including Bad Witch Burning, In The Watchful City and many more!
- Sahi @ My World of Books reviews Isn’t It Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams
- Sammie @ The Bookwyrm’s Den reviews Like Other Girls by Britta Lundin
- Tammy @ Books, Bones & Buffy reviews The Offset by Calder Szewczak
- Amanda @ Bookish Brews reviews The Color of Your Voice by Daniel Newwyn
- Briana @ Pages Unbound recommends 10 young adult books being released in Fall 2021 to add to your TBR pile
- Rukky @ Eternity Books writes about struggling with her identity as a blogger
- Simone @ The Nerd Daily lists 16 fiction books with disability representation
- Nicole @ Thoughts Stained With Ink discusses protagonists and gender
- Richetta @ Cocoa With Books recommends 10 September books to add to your wish list

I had two blog tour stops this week! First, I reviewed Like Other Girls by Britta Lundin, which turned out to be a great 4-star YA that challenged so many gender norms and sports traditions!
Then I reviewed Pahua and the Soul Stealer by Lori M. Lee, most probably one of my favourites of this year with its beautiful depiction of Hmong myth and family.
I also discussed the role of gender in book protagonists and what my personal preferences were.
And that’s another Sunday Sum-Up done! What are you excited about the most for next week?

I love seeing Hmong rep in MG fantasy, which is something that I never would’ve even considered to be possible before! It’s so awesome 😍 Have a great week ahead!

Being fully vaccinated is worth the feeling ill for a few days – and the extra reading time was a definite bonus!
I definitely agree, Louise! Fully worth it!
