Sunday Sum-Up: Sri Lankan Book Bloggers Community & My First IG Live

Sunday Sum-Up: Sri Lankan Book Bloggers Community & My First IG Live

Happy Sunday, readers! I hope everyone is safe and healthy during these trying times! It’s time for another Sunday Sum-Up!

This week was pretty eventful for me since my personal life as well as my blogging life faced quite a few new experiences and challenges.

Staring with my personal life, a few of my relatives are battling COVID right now. It is stressful just sitting at home and waiting to hear news of what’s happening, unable to actually move around and help during this lockdown. At this point, I am sure many of us know how that feels like.

Also, I developed a sore throat myself on Thursday and we had a bit of a scare but I am completely recovered by the time I am writing this post. I didn’t really fulfill the criteria for a PCR and I had no known contacts, but I still isolated myself to just my room and my study, with a separate bathroom to myself, since I want to be safer rather than sorry right now. It has been quite an experience spending most of the day on my own in just two rooms so far.

The more exciting, happy news is that I got interviewed by Chathurika @wanderreadingsoul on IG Live yesterday for Getting To Know series. The series aims to bring together all the members of the Sri Lankan book community that are scattered all across the platforms and it is an amazing experience to chat with her. Check out our chat below and make sure you follow her if you love what she does!

I am also celebrating reaching 1.5K followers on Instagram with an international giveaway which will run till August 31st! You can hop over to the post below and give it a go if you are interested in trying out!

Since I chatted with Chathu about Sri Lanka bloggers and how we are so disconnected from each other on our IG Live, I have been entertaining the idea of creating a Sri Lankan book bloggers directory as part of Bibliosini. If you are Sri Lankan and a book blogger, let me know if you are interested in being included! If there is anyone you know who will be interested, let them know too!

Lastly, I joined Bloglovin! Use the link below to follow me there if that’s something you would like to do!

And that’s it for this week’s catch-up! Hope you are all safe and taking care of yourselves! Let me share some more great content with you below!

I made a list of adult contemporary romance releases of the second half of 2021.

Aparna’s Verma’s The Boy with Fire is releasing soon, so here’s my review!

I did my own twist on this week’s Let’s Talk Bookish prompt and listed my 5 must-read books based on my 2021 reading experience.

That’s it for this week’s Sunday Sum-Up! Stay tuned for my post tomorrow!

    1. A Sri Lankan book community directory sounds wonderful, count me in😃😃 I’m only on WordPress tho and don’t have any social media accounts for the time being☺

An IG Live sounds like so much fun! I’ve been thinking of doing one sometime in the future. But since I’m not super active on Insta, I’m not sure anyone would even watch 🤣.

I hope you have a wonderful week! 💕

    1. Thank you, Ellie! And I understand what you mean. I tend to take time off Instagram from time to time!
