Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. For the last few years, it’s been co-hosted at Team Tynga’s and here at Reading Reality. Reading Reality became the one and only host of Stacking the Shelves when Team Tynga’s Reviews closed its virtual doors in 2021.
I am glad to see that I have successfully managed to keep up this monthly haul tradition since re-starting it last month! These monthly features are the hardest to keep track of sometimes since I would simply forget about it altogether LOL!
Physical copy purchases:
I decided on trying out secondhand bookstores on Instagram and bought these copies from the lovely @prelovedbooks_lk. I got a good copy of Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck and an almost-new copy of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. Based on this great first-time experience, I might just stick to shopping at these small businesses next time too!
Digital copy purchases:
I saw quite of a lot of K.F. Breene’s fantasy series up for free on Kindle, so I went a bit crazy and got a whole bunch of them! I really liked what the reviews said, so I cannot wait to find out for myself what new things this urban fantasy brings to the genre! I haven’t really read any Lila Monroe books, but the premise of billionaire romance appealed to me after so long, so I added Get Lucky to my Kindle library. I also got a free copy of the dark romance Fable of Happiness by Pepper Winters and He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not by Iris Morland.
Next, I ended up getting a few anthologies: the recently-released Just Folking Around by Penny Reid, and Africanfuturism: An Anthology. I realised there were a few manga on sale on Kindle as well, so I grabbed a copy of the first volumes of Sweat and Soap by Kintetsu Yamada and Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama!
The most exciting purchase I made this month was my pre-order of The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L. Armentrout! I absolutely cannot wait to read the continuation of the Blood and Ash series in March 2022!
Digital copies received:
This month’s Romance Read Club pick was Repeat by Kylie Scott and this is a completely new-to-me author, so I am curious to see how my experience will go. I also joined Rachel Grant’s VIP mailing list and got free copies of these two books: Inferno and Body of Evidence! So excited that my Rachel Grant collection is growing!
Review copies received:
I just finished reading The Boy with Fire and it’s such a brilliantly solid 5-star read! Keep an eye on my review coming soon! I am so so excited to get a review copy of Servant Mage by Kate Elliott, which is an early 2022 release. I was actually really surprised when I got approved but so ready because I’ve read previous works of Elliott and loved it!
I got approved for three blog tours this time, which sounds insane to me! First, I’ve got two middle-grade books: an #ownvoices mystery set in Kerala that I am loving reading right now, A Mystery at Lili Villa by Arathi Menon; and an anthology of short stories celebrating Black boyhood, Black Boy Joy. Then I have a young adult coming-of-age story with a sapphic MC by Britta Lundin, Like Other Girls. I am absolutely thrilled at this chance!
And that’s my haul this month! Did any of these look interesting to you?

I haven’t got around to read it yet but would love to see you read it too! Thanks Tammy!
I got approved for Servant Mage too. I can’t wait to read it (after the rest of my humongous stack of arcs lol)

What a great haul! I’ve heard such great things about Black Boy Joy. I’ll be excited to hear your thoughts. 🙂
