It’s literally the end of October in my little corner of the world, so it feels like it’s high time to look at my haul for the past month! As always, I will be linking up with Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Reading Reality and created by Team Tynga’s Reviews.
I feel that I was very restrained in my book buying this month. I didn’t go crazy at the book fair that was held last week and I bought a reasonable amount of Kindle books. I even requested less review copies since I wanted to build my NetGalley percentage while working on my physical TBR! I think it’s safe to say this month was a good one!
Two great things happened this month: I got my hands on a secondhand copy of the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and there was a virtual book fair! I got four books in total at the book fair. Two are favourites of mine: The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang and It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey. The others are two I cannot wait to start reading since I have been hearing raving reviews: a beautiful hardback copy of Circe by Madeline Miller and She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan!
I came across a few deals on Kindle this month, so I bought five eBooks though I have no idea when I’ll actually read these! I have always wanted to read Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston and The Mixtape by Brittainy Cherry, so I grabbed these straightaway. Playing with Monsters by Amelia Hutchins is a dark romance that has been on my watchlist for a few years now. Premeditated Myrtle was a completely spontaneous buy! I was drawn in by that beautiful cover and the fact that it’s middle-grade mystery! Meghan March released a boxset of the first books in her series titled Cliffhanger Queen and I grabbed that for free.
This month’s Romance Read Club pick was Love on the Edge of Time by Julie A. Richman. This book is completely new to me and I’ve never read any of this author’s work yet either. From what I can tell it’s a romance between a bad boy rockstar, a former pageant queen and a mutual therapist. A bit of an odd combo, right?
Technically, this was part of my September haul but I got a review copy of Crash Site by Rachel Grant on NetGalley! I also preordered a copy of this book because I loved Dangerous Ground so much, so I guess I’ve got two copies now!
Any book haul this month? Notice any of your favourites in my book haul?
