It’s the first Let’s Talk Bookish of the year, readers! Let’s talk some new year planning!
Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme hosted by Rukky @ Eternity Books and Dani @ Literary Lion where we discuss certain topics based on prompts allocated for each Friday of the week. You basically share your opinions and get into the conversation by visiting each other’s posts. You can find the January schedule here and here.
Today’s Let’s Talk Bookish topic is 2022 Reading Goals, which was suggested by Dani @ Literary Lion.
I am not much of a planner when it comes to my reading; I always tend to go by mood! But with my growing pile of review copies that I need to get to by deadline and the fact that I start working full-time in the hospital in a couple of weeks, it’s time I got some structure in my TBR!
Since I am not the greatest at reading TBRs, I am going to have two piles: my review pile (or my TBR really) and my 2022 hopefuls!
- When the World Turned Upside Down by K. Ibura. I was just approved for this book’s blog tour. Can’t wait to see what a middle-grade take on the COVID-19 pandemic will read like!
- Clean Air by Sarah Blake. This one is for blog tour running in February and my current read too. A dystopian set in a world with killer pollen and a serial killer is apparently my thing!
- You Truly Assumed by Laila Sabreen. I have been waiting for this book since I saw my friends rave about it on Bookstagram last year!
- A Coin for the Ferryman by Megan Edwards. The author approached me with a review request and I was instantly drawn in by the strange blend of genres.
- Kelcie Murphy and the Academy for the Unbreakable Arts by Erika Lewis. This is the one fantasy middle-grade book on my TBR so far, which is a shame because I realised how amazing this genre is last year!
- Blood Scion by Deborah Falaye. Another anticipated release that I was dying to read and I got a review copy!
- First Time for Everything by Henry Fry. This book sort of hit me out of nowhere and I liked the sounds of its memoir-style writing, so can’t wait to give it a go!
- Queerly Beloved by Susie Dumond. I am a huge fan of wedding shenanigans and one with queer characters sounds so much better!
- For Butter or Worse by Erin La Rosa. I love this cover and I love the food-themed premise! I mean, just how cute is that cover?
- She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan. This is an anticipated release of last year’s that shifted to this year’s TBR. Literally everyone has been telling me to read this, so here I go!
- Circe by Madeline Miller. I love Greek mythology and when people started raving about this book I just had to get one myself!
- Beautiful by Christina Lauren. I have been jumping all over this series since I keep buying the books in such a haphazard order, but I can’t wait to get into this road-trip-style romance!
- A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. I finally finally finally collected all three books! I am so psyched to read this and see what all the hype is about!
- The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L. Armentrout. TWOTQ is probably my most anticipated release of this year! I preordered a copy as soon as finished the last book!
- Hook, Line, and Sinker by Tessa Bailey. I absolutely loved the first book of this series and I am so excited to read Hannah and Fox’s story!
- The Ex-Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon. Once again, another book that I have heard so much buzz about last year, so I can’t wait to start this one!
- A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair. Greek mythology is my jam and the story of Persephone and Hades is one of my top 5 myths! Give it a steamy twist and I am here for it!
- While We Were Dating by Jasmine Guillory. I was so sure I would read this fake-dating romance last year but I couldn’t find the time!
- The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas. It’s time I finally find out why everyone is fangirling over Aaron Blackford!
My blog goals are a little tame this time since I am gonna start working full-time and I honestly have no idea how I will manage work and blogging. So in 2022, I aim:
- To publish a blog post 3 times a week
- To raise my follower count to 200 (right now at 120 followers)
- To reach 20,000 all-time views (right now at 10,505 views)
- To use my blogging as an outlet for all my work stress!
See, it’s pretty basic this time. I have always worried about my blog’s continuity once I am working, but this year I aim to keep up a good flow of blog posts!
What are your 2022 reading goals? Which of your 2022 reads are you most excited about?
