Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme hosted by Rukky @ Eternity Books and Dani @ Literary Lion where we discuss certain topics based on prompts allocated for each Friday of the week. You basically share your opinions and get into the conversation by visiting each other’s posts. You can find the January schedule here and here.

Today’s Let’s Talk Bookish topic is Rereading Books, which was suggested by Fives @ Down the Rabbit Hole.

I am not the greatest advocate for rereading books but here I am with a discussion post on the subject! I don’t think anyone should even be reading this post since I hardly reread but here we go!

How many times is enough? Why re-read at all? Is re-reading just a comforting pastime? Or is there excitement to be relived?

Honestly, I don’t think there’s a limit to how often you can reread a book you love. Most people reread to relive their favourite reads but I have noticed many people who reread to give books they did not exactly love, a second chance.

What kind of books do you re-read? Do you ever re-read books you don’t like in hopes that it will be better the second time?

Personally I reread my favourites whenever a new book in the series is coming out. The last books I reread were the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. However I am always faced with time constraints due to time I needed to put into my university courses and now into my full-time job.

I usually don’t read books I did not like because of these time constraints. I am exhaustingly stressed most of the time too, so I prefer investing time in books that bring me comfort.

Were there any books you didn’t like as a child but liked as an adult, or vice versa?

Nope. I can’t think of any book that I reread from my childhood at this stage. I have anyway reread probably ten books in my lifetime so far, so keep that in mind too. However, my home library holds all my childhood reads till now.
